FORM TO DONATE
Our new shelterhouse has a name: the Match Pointe Tennis
Pavilion. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on name ideas.
On Nov. 19, 2009, the posts and trusses were put into place
for the new Delta Tennis shelterhouse! This date is special
because it is the birthday of Grandma Peggy Brown, whose death in
October 2008 sparked the inspiration for the building.
There is still
much work to do over a long period of time, but the dream is turning
into reality!
The facility is open for use
(although not finished) and will seat an estimated 100 people.
Almost all funds for the project are being raised through private
donations.
Here's how to contribute. We will
continue to raise funds as the project is completed in various phases
over the next couple of years.
Our vision for this project is that DHS Tennis will have the finest
shelterhouse in East Central Indiana.
Components include permanent seating, ceiling fans, water,
electricity, and an area to display dozens of photos from the past as
well as motivational sayings.
DHS Tennis receives $4,000 grant from
Lowe's for shelterhouse! See details

* Checks should be written to Delta Athletics and
are tax deductible. We appreciate your help!

Monte Stebbins waves from atop the new Match Pointe Tennis
Pavilion, during the afternoon of Sunday, March 7, 2010. Monte and
his son, Tyce, spent the weekend donating their labor to put the black
dimensional shingles on the shelter. Tyce is a member of the
Delaware Community School Board; Monte is a candidate for Hamilton
Township Trustee. Both have been long-time participants and
supporters of Delta athletics. Monte's daughter, Chanda, is a
former State Doubles Finalist and All-State Doubles tennis player at
Delta in the early 1990s.
Monte and Tyce and other members of their roofing crew complete more
than 30 roofing jobs each summer. For this project, Lowe's
discounted the materials by 20 percent as part of the national Lowe's
grant that DHS Tennis received for the pavilion project.
