RICHARDSON WINS FIRST USTA TITLE:  Recent DHS Tennis grad Zach Richardson earned his first USTA sanctioned tournament championship on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the TLAC Columbus Junior Open in Columbus, Ind.

Richardson won the Boys 18 singles division.  He beat teammate Austin Lemna in a third-set tiebreaker in the final match.

Evan Rodenberger and Ethan Grove won the Boys 18 doubles title. They defeated Richardson/Lemna in the finals.

Alexandria's Michelle McFerran earned the Girls 18 singles championship over a Bloomington opponent in the finals.

Bradley Wuthrich reached the finals of the Boys 16 singles but lost a nail-biter to Luke Red of Columbus in a third-set tiebreaker.

Callie Worthington finished runner-up in Girls 16 singles; Khamasi Muhiga was runner-up in Boys 14 singles; and Alec Robillard was runner-up in Boys 12 singles.

Alec St. John and Jay Robillard were runners-up in Boys 16 doubles.  Jack Sanders and Alec Robillard were runners-up in Boys 12 doubles.

A total of 23 Muncie-area players competed together in the weekend event in Columbus.
